Hello, beloved readers, and welcome to 2012! This  blog was hacked by some nefarious douchebag a bored kid around New Year’s, and I’ve just now gotten it back online, thanks to the efforts of my amazing girlfriend.

So here we are, new year, new blank page, new blog. I’d resolved to blog every day for 2012, like you do, and today is the first day I even can. What to make of that?

Whatevs. In an effort to get back to what I love about blogging I’m determined to worry less about the audience and more about the words. We’ll see how it goes. Here are three things I’ve loved so far about the new year:

  1. Discovering Girl Genius.
  2. Getting back to writing at Strollerderby.
  3. Playing with Spotify.

What have you been up to?

I’m a huge fan of Girl Genius; been meaning to introduce my teenage niece to it. The backstory is kind of daunting at this point, though.

Rio got the first volume for Christmas and loved it. You could try introducing it to your niece that way. That 7-yr-old you hang out with might like it, too!

Things I have loved so far about 2012:
    * Hanging out wit’ YOOOOOOOOOOU! And your fun, interesting, lovely family.
    * Seeing my parents triumph last night at the Gardner.
*Hanging out with my aunt and uncle who I’m crazy about
    * Parts of “The Hunger Games” which I read in one day
    * Getting reunited with Pete and delighting in his delightfulness
    * Watching two of my friends who are twin sisters karaoke a duet of “Stop Dragging My Heart Around” with great gusto.
    * The salmon cerviche they served last night at the thing. SOOOO GOOOOD.

This year can continue to be delicious and full of friends and family. That would be totally ok with me.
