Serena came downstairs the other day wearing a bathing suit and a huge smile and said, “Mama, I am going to help you bake cookies now!”

And bake cookies we did. She’s crafty, that one. In every sense of the word.

[I've been sitting on this post for a week waiting to get a good photo of our cookies, since we actually bake cookies rather a lot. But I keep forgetting to photograph them before I eat them. oops!]

Also today, Serena made a list for me of all the things she will do when she is a teenager. Here it is:

  • be able to swim underwater in a pool
  • be better at hopping
  • be better at doing tricks
  • be able to read chapter books by herself
  • not burn herself in the kitchen
  • be tall enough to turn on the living room lights by herself
  • also the kitchen lights
  • also her bedroom lights
  • be better at listening to Mommy

I don’t know about that last one, but I bet she’ll easily achieve all the others.

Hee hee :) . Ms4 tells me, “When I am 5, I will be able to drive the car.” And also, “When I am 13 or 14, I will be able to cross the street holding no hands.” I love how the future is a vast, undifferentiated country.
