Weekly writing round-up again. I’ve been mostly on “vacation” this week, so it’s pretty light fare. The helicopter parenting article is my personal fave, and got a thumbs-up from Ms. Free-Range Kids herself. Enjoy!

That “don't wash your dirty hands when you get a cut on them” article seems kind of misleading. Okay, antibacterial soaps may retard healing, but I think regular soap should still be fine, and I think even for the most hard-edged crunchy out there, rinsing the dirt out has to be prudent.
I, too, liked the Helicopter post. But having raised my kids in the tropics (we're in the UK now) we ALWAYS wash a cut with clean water!
