Crying about preschool

Rio came home from her first day of preschool and told me that one of the little girls in her class (that pink girl, she called her), sat crying in a corner because she missed her mommy.

Then Rio told me that because the pink girl was crying and lonely for her mama, Rio sat in the corner with her and read her stories and held her hand until she smiled and laughed and felt better.

And that made me cry. It’s making me cry again. What did I ever do to deserve such an amazing kid?
