Last week the new logic board on my iBook died. After some soul-searching and bank-account reckoning, M and I went to the Apple store and replaced it with a new Macbook. I am, needless to say, thrilled with this, though nervous about the amount of money we spent on it (only about half the actual cost, since I had a $500 gift card and he had an educator discount).
It’s exactly like my old machine, only faster and better. Transferring my data was the Easiest Thing Ever; literally a single keystroke and it retrieved all my passwords, programs, files, etc. To the point where when I opened up the programs I’d been using when the old machine died, I was gifted with open saved drafts of the e-mail I’d been writing and a restored Firefox session that brought back all the web sites I had open. Bliss.
