Rio calls the cats “Kit-ty” universally, it’s one of her most reliable words. She also calls dogs “Kit-ty”, but that’s to be expected.
She often competes with the “kit-ties” for food, and we always say, “No, Rio, that’s the cat’s food. Cat food is not for babies.” or something like that.
Just now she came running up to me with a kibble in one hand, held it out and said, “Cat.”
I don’t think she associates the word with the animal, just the kibbles.
