parenting a preverbal toddler….

is just like dating a teenage boy, only without the mediocre-but-frequent sex. She can’t tell me what she wants because she simply doesn’t have the words for it, so instead she assumes I’ll just know, and when I fail to give her what she wants, she throws herself on the floor and cries. Also, she assumes that she is welcome to take, play with and destroy everything I own, and that a cute, disarming smile will get her off, no matter what the charges.
