it turns out that girl babies have a high dose of their mother’s hormones for the first month or so, and can exhibit lots of grown-up behaviors, like mensing and lactating. Rio has managed both – for some reason the mensing didn’t seem as completely awe-some and weird as the lactation.
I keep wanting to write other tidbits of the wonderful weird world of mothering, but there’s so little time – every waking moment seems to be crowded with her beautiful face.
